Battling the elements in Lincoln

30th November 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

Lincoln is undergoing an ambitious regeneration, including a £30m transport hub for the city centre developed by Wilmott Dixon. This includes a large multi-storey car park, which has been completed ahead of schedule. These new timings meant that the car park opening could coincide with the Christmas light switch on.

The weather was not on our side. Bad fog throughout the week resulted in dew on the surface. This made progress painfully slow, as we always complete any job to the highest standards. Our determined team adapted to the challenges and the car park opened on time. The client was over the moon to hand over on schedule, and hundreds of happy people were able to leave their vehicles in the clearly marked car park spaces as they went off to enjoy Lincoln’s festive lights.

In gear at British Car Auctions

30th November 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

When it comes to line marking, Riggotts has many miles on the clock. So when British Car Auctions needed lining, lettering, arrows and logos, we were the first choice for returning contractor, The Assured Group.

As one of the UK’s first car auctioneers, with 700,000 vehicles passing through their 25 sites each year, BCA are well aware of how important good appearance and high standards are. They were pleased to see our team deliver 900m of perfect thermoplastic lining at their site.

We employ all our own team and never use subcontractors, so it’s always nice to hear positive feedback. So we’ll leave the last word to Andy Harrison, Valet/Image Manager, who told us: ‘The guys were stars today and did a great job.’

Fast turnaround for Transpennine Express

Brough Railway Station has been serving passengers since 1804. Although we haven’t been around quite that long, we’ve many years’ experience in line marking. Having previously lined railway platforms around the UK, we were the first choice for contractor Mitie.

Disruption can be costly, so we lined the two platforms swiftly, with no delays. Our team worked through the night to complete 1100m of durable line markings to help keep rail customers safe. With our experienced team sticking strictly to the timetable, the station was back on track in no time.

Just did it

20th November 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

International advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy have produced well-known work for clients such as Nike and Honda. Back in 2010, we created line graphics on pavements at their London office.

As always, we carried out the job with durable products that would last. So it was only recently, seven years on, they contacted us for a retouch. Familiar with our professional approach and quality finishes, Complete Facilities & Property Maintenance Company subcontracted us to reline the floor graphics.

We’re looking forward to another phone call in another seven years or so.

Packing a punch

20th November 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

DS Smith is one of Europe’s leading packaging companies. Having grown from humble beginnings to a £4.7m operation employing 27,000 staff in 37 countries, they understand the importance of expertise. So when they needed line markings for a new layout at their depot, they knew Riggotts would have it wrapped up in no time.

The first challenge was to remove the old layout markings. For this, we use the Clean & Retrieve Ride-On machine. Run-on gas, it has no trailing cables – making it the ideal choice to clean up in a live operational warehouse.

As well as clearing the markings efficiently, the Clean & Retrieve Ride-On leaves a perfectly prepared surface. Our team took advantage and applied approximately 4,500m of lining with a single pack epoxy. We were pleased to deliver a durable, long-lasting solution for our client.

26th October 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

Grimsby Town Railway Station has been serving passengers since 1848. Although our history doesn’t stretch back quite that far, contractor Mitie once again chose us for line marking.

As we never use sub-contractors, they knew they could rely on our experienced, expert team to keep the job on track. The team travel the breadth of the UK, applying line marking, block colour, lettering and more to a wide range of businesses, from car parks and airports to retailers and roads.

This time, they applied 550m of white lining to all three of the station’s platforms. They delivered a hard-wearing one pack epoxy – its durability and expert application will keep customers safe for many more years to come.

The clear choice for Safestyle

26th October 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

With over 20 years’ experience of lining yards for large clients, it’s easy to see why Safestyle chose us to carry out the clear and concise lining in their yard area. As the UK’s leading supplier and installer of uPVC windows and doors, it’s a busy place.

Our team advised and applied a durable one pack epoxy, covering 62m2 with solid green, yellow and black. The job also required lettering for the forklift truck fuel point and fire assembly point, which was also applied by our highly skilled team.

Lining sorted for Screwfix

26th October 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

Having nailed it for them at sites across the country, Screwfix returned to Riggotts for line markings at their multi-million-pound depot. Part of Kingfisher Group, Screwfix are the largest multi-channel retailer in their sector.

They knew could rely on Riggotts to choose the best tools for the job. For us, that meant the laser-guided shot blaster from Clean & Retrieve to prepare the surface. This was followed by a new, state of the art line laser application of a single pack epoxy.

The thorough preparation and application ensured that the 2000m of lining applied, including HGV bays and pedestrian walkways, are not only incredibly accurate but will stand the tests of time too.

The Olympic Legacy Park (OLP) in Sheffield is a 35-acre site that is a hub for health and wellbeing research, learning and training.

Jessica Ennis-Hill and Nicola Adams are just two of the notable names that trained here. As well as outstanding sports facilities, OLP is home to much more – including a state-of-the-art research and development centre that’s set to be the greatest in the world.

People move fast around here, and our team was no exception. We delivered over 400m of lining and 500m2 of solid coloured areas in record time, as well as adding chevrons and numbering.

After another successful job by our team, we look forward to seeing which sporting greats will develop next. Good luck everyone!

Victory at Waterloo

25th September 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

When it comes to line marking, we’re always up for a challenge. We were happy to take on 400m of thermoplastic lining, disabled logos, and 74 letters and numbers at Waterloo Trade Park, an industrial unit in Hull.

As well as being delighted with the end result, the client was impressed with the ease of the whole process. Richard M Hesk, Managing Director of Waterloo Property Development Ltd, told us:

“Adam and Mark did a great job and I was grateful for their advice with the couple of ‘on the spot’ changes that were necessary during the painting! I appreciated them being at the site well before the prearranged start time and working right through till the finish. The whole experience has been positive.”

Because we don’t use sub-contractors, we can guarantee an experienced, reliable team every time. We believe it’s our professional approach, liaising with clients every step of the way, that sees them return to us again and again.

Makeover at The Marlowes Shopping Centre

25th September 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

The Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead is home to many well-known brands, from H Samuel to The Perfume Shop. When it came to refreshing their line markings they didn’t have to shop around. They chose Riggotts due to our wealth of experience within the industry, and our reputation for quality and value.

On the shopping list was over 300m of car park lining, including give way junctions, 17 disabled, and six parent and child bays. We didn’t only help to keep the shoppers safe in their vehicles – we coloured 600m2 of solid areas which included clearly marked walkways to enable them to find their way safely to and from the shopping centre.

The lining was delivered swiftly using a fast-drying one pack epoxy – just in time for the busy holiday season. At one of the centre’s busiest times, shoppers were greeted with clear, well-presented markings on arrival. After all, even the car park is part of a shopping centre’s shop window.

Flying high at Heathrow

18th August 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

We landed a job at Heathrow Airport thanks to our relationship with The Alan Nutall Partnership Ltd. They’re just one of many clients who repeatedly return to us, knowing we’ll deliver quality markings efficiently. As well as a pristine finish, our experience in creating precise client logos came into play here.

The line markings and logos required were for Good to Go parking, who now offer a Drop and Ride service to customers at Terminals 4 and 5. You can literally drop off your car, hand over your keys, and let them park for you. We’ve helped to make this stress-free parking experience even easier, by adding clear markings and logos to the site.

To keep disruption to a minimum, we used a fast-drying, long-lasting one pack epoxy. This created the Heathrow Good to Go logos, as well as 1380m of lining, 126m of hatching and 619m of Colourplus. So wherever travellers are headed, finding their way around Good to Go Drop and Ride will be a breeze.

In the driving seat with TESLA

18th August 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

Tesla is jostling for pole position in the electric car market. Their first electric sports car, the Roadster, arrived in 2008 and their Model S was the world’s best-selling plug-in electric car in both 2015 and 2016. They’re on track for great success with their Model 3, having already taken half a million pre-orders for this affordable vehicle they hope will revolutionise the market.

As a leader in their industry, it’s perhaps to be expected that they’d choose the UK’s leading line marking company for their Dartford dealership. In our 20 years of lining experience, we’ve worked with BMW, Nissan and Renault. So the work for Tesla, through our returning clients BSPS Ltd, was right up our street.

To help with traffic flow around the dealership we carried out over 200m of the lining. That included give way markings, disabled bays and two-speed roundels. All our work was completed with one pack epoxy, leaving Tesla with long-lasting results to drive sales into the future.

Happy to help at Hersham

18th August 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

The Hersham Centre keeps the community in Elmbridge active. Residents can enjoy services as varied as arts and crafts classes to aromatherapy and reflexology, iPad training and organised trips.

They weren’t looking for classes in line marking, although with 20 years’ experience, we’d be the ones to ask! We did, however, apply over 100m of thermoplastic lining to the site, enabling users to move about easily. As well as standard parking bays, disabled parking bays and parent and child parking bays, we also lined zebra crossings, lettering and no less than 22 arrows.

So whatever activity residents want to enjoy next, they won’t have any trouble finding their way.

Making our mark at LIDL

18th August 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

Budget supermarket Lidl know all about great value. So when it came to car park markings at their Netherton store, they didn’t need to shop around. Riggotts was the first choice for contractor Fernmac. As we’ve worked with them before, they knew they could rely on our team for quality and efficiency.

This time, we carried out over 500m of lining in the car park. This included markings to make five disabled bays and three parent and child clear to customers. All the work was completed quickly using a fast-drying one pack epoxy. This provides a durable finish that will sustain the traffic flow associated with a busy car park.

In our 20 years of experience, we’ve worked right across the UK with every major supermarket brand. So we’re pleased to be ticking Lidl, one of the UK’s fastest-growing supermarkets, off our list too.

Back and better than ever

2nd August 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

We’re proud to be part of the team that got the Asda Luton store back into action following a major fire in March.

The 44,000 sq ft store on Wigmore Lane had a £7.6m revamp, with new facilities added. Riggotts ensured all the new line markings are up to scratch too. So that customers and staff can enjoy their store easily and safely.

It’s been a real team effort to get things back on track so quickly. But the store was officially reopened after just four months by the Mayor of Luton and Luton Foodbank (who Asda donated rescued stock too).

Amanda Burnham, Asda Luton’s community champion, said: “The colleagues have really missed everything about the store – seeing each other and all the regular customers. It’s an emotional day. I’ve worked at the store for 20 years so it’s fantastic to be back.”

We’d like to wish manager David White and his wonderful colleagues at Asda Luton all the best now they’re back in a store that’s better than ever.

Prepare for the best

28th July 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

At Riggotts we know how important a well-prepared surface is in improving the performance and lifespan of line markings. That’s why we’re now working with Clean & Retrieve to strip any previous coatings and to prepare surfaces, ensuring a clean start for the perfect finish.

Its compact size and a weight of only 850kg mean it can travel in a van or trailer with our team. It may be small, but it packs a punch too. It’s effective on textured surfaces, both internally and externally.

Once we have an expertly prepared, dust-free surface, we can apply lines and markings with ease. Using our specialist knowledge and state-of-the-art equipment, our own teams complete the job to our stringent health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Riggotts have worked with Clean & Retrieve for many of our clients, including Morrisons, Asda, DHL, UK Mail and Amazon. It’s our commitment to using the best equipment, our expertise and professional approach that has contractors lining up to use us, again and again.

Right on the money

28th July 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

Cushman & Wakefield are one of the largest real estate companies in the world. They’re well experienced in subcontracting, so when it comes to line marking and surfacing, they choose Riggott & Co Ltd time and time again.

This was no exception when it came to markings for a newly built office space facility in Peterborough. Access House is a three-storey, 40,000sq foot office block which is home to Access Prepaid Worldwide, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mastercard. The facility is based in Cygnet Park, a base for brands including Volvo, Kelway and News International.

Cushman & Wakefield know that with us, the numbers really add up. With over 20 years’ experience of lining marking across the UK, we were their first choice to deliver great results. Our team used one pack epoxy paint to line seven-speed roundels, one motorcycle logo, 498 numbers and letters and 20m of hatching. As always, our operatives were professional and efficient; we were proud to receive direct feedback from the client:

“The guys that were here on Saturday were absolutely smashing and did a great job.”

Having a reliable, flexible and expert team is vital to us, so we never use subcontractors. We value high-quality standards and service. We believe it’s what makes us the number one choice for so many contractors.

R F Racing backs a winner

29th June 2017by aperturemarketingukNews

We’re a firm favourite with Richard Fahey Racing Ltd, so when needed to refresh their anti-skid surfacing they asked for us once again.

This racehorse training facility had 235 winners in 2015 and another 198 in 2016. They wanted a team with a thoroughbred pedigree to deliver a surface that would help to ensure their horses (and staff) stay safe and well cared for.

This time round we laid a total of 657 square metres of anti-skid surface treatment at their training facility which is located on the edge of the Howardian Hills in North Yorkshire – a place that can expect inclement weather in winter. Using specially developed materials we created a high-specification surface that will increase safety for vehicles, animals and people at the facility all year round.

Riggotts were called upon for this project due to our exceptional workmanship. As we’d carried out similar work for the same company previously, they were well aware of the high standards we would deliver.

With our experienced team taking care of the surface, RF Racing can concentrate on romping home to even more victories in the future.
